Space Trade Company — Legal

Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions · Both effective 16 August 2026

Privacy Policy

Effective 16 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Space Trade Company app (the “Application”), a game created by Einar Sandstrom (the “Service Provider”). The Application is free to use and is provided “AS IS”.

At a glance

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for the processing described here is:

Einar Sandstrom
Månskensvägen 54
146 46 Tullinge
Sweden
Email: stc.dev@outlook.com

The Service Provider is an individual developer based in Sweden. There is no statutory requirement for a Data Protection Officer for processing of this scale, and none has been appointed. Please direct all privacy questions to the email address above.

What information is processed

In single-player, solo and tutorial modes, the Application processes no personal data at all and does not require an internet connection.

When you use online multiplayer, your device connects to a relay server operated by the Service Provider. The following is processed during a multiplayer session:

The relay writes operational log messages so the Service Provider can keep the service running and diagnose faults. These logs may include room codes, player names, timing information and connection events. The Application does not gather your location, does not read your contacts, files or photos, does not access the camera or microphone, and does not collect any advertising or device identifier. The only Android permission the Application requests is INTERNET.

The Application also writes diagnostic log messages to your device's own storage. These stay on your device, are never transmitted to the Service Provider, and are deleted when you clear the Application's data or uninstall it.

The Application does not use Artificial Intelligence technologies to process your data. The computer opponents in the game are rule-based and do not analyse anything you type.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Service Provider relies on the following legal bases:

Your data is never used for advertising, profiling, automated decision-making, or any form of tracking, and is never sold or rented to anyone.

Where your data is processed

The relay server runs on Microsoft Azure in the Sweden Central region. Match traffic and relay logs are therefore processed inside the European Economic Area.

Microsoft acts as a processor for this hosting and is bound by its data processing terms. In limited support scenarios Microsoft personnel outside the EEA may access infrastructure data; where that happens, Microsoft's Standard Contractual Clauses and EU Data Boundary commitments apply. See Microsoft's privacy statement.

How long it is kept

Third parties

The Application is distributed through Google Play. Google collects its own telemetry about installs, crashes and store activity, governed by Google's privacy policy.

The Application uses the Google Play In-App Updates service to check whether a newer version is available, and may use the Google Play Integrity service to confirm that the copy of the game connecting to multiplayer is a genuine, unmodified one. Both are provided by Google and communicate with Google Play, not with the Service Provider.

The Service Provider may disclose information where it is legally required to do so, such as to comply with a court order or similar legal process, or where it believes in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect its rights, protect the safety of a person, investigate fraud, or respond to a lawful government request.

No other third parties receive your data.

Advertising

The Application does not currently display advertisements and contains no advertising SDK.

The Service Provider may introduce advertising in a future version. If that happens, this Privacy Policy will be updated before that version is released, the updated policy will be presented to you inside the Application for acceptance, and where the law requires your consent for advertising identifiers or personalised advertising, that consent will be requested separately and you will be able to decline it.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to request access to your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. Where processing rests on legitimate interests, you may object at any time.

In practice, because the Application keeps no accounts and retains nothing about you beyond the short-lived logs described above, there is usually very little to retrieve once a match has ended. You can also stop all processing at any time by playing only the offline modes, or by uninstalling the Application.

To exercise any of these rights, email stc.dev@outlook.com. The Service Provider will respond within one month.

If you believe your data has been handled improperly, you have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In Sweden this is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), www.imy.se. You may also complain to the authority in your own country of residence.

Age requirement

The Application is intended for players aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13, and the Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Some countries in the EEA set the age of digital consent higher than 13, up to 16. If you are under that age in your country, please use the online multiplayer mode only with the permission of a parent or guardian.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the Application, please contact stc.dev@outlook.com and it will be deleted promptly.

No user accounts

The Application does not offer account registration and stores no profile about you. There is therefore no account to delete. If you would still like the Service Provider to remove anything it may hold, email stc.dev@outlook.com.

Security

Traffic between your device and the relay is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. The relay stores no database of players and holds no passwords or payment details, so there is no store of credentials to be lost. Access to the hosting environment and its logs is restricted to the Service Provider.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and the Service Provider cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When a change materially affects how your information is handled, the updated policy will be shown inside the Application and you will be asked to accept it before continuing to play. The current version is always published at this address.

This Privacy Policy is effective as of 16 August 2026.

Terms and Conditions

Effective 16 August 2026

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Space Trade Company app (the “Application”), created by Einar Sandstrom (the “Service Provider”). The Application is provided free of charge.

By downloading or using the Application you agree to these Terms. Please read them before you play. If you do not agree to them, do not use the Application.

Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Application. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, which is 13 in Sweden and up to 16 in some other EEA countries, you may use the online multiplayer mode only with the permission of a parent or guardian.

Your licence to use the Application

The Service Provider grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Application on devices you own or control, for your own private, non-commercial enjoyment.

All trademarks, copyrights, database rights and other intellectual property rights in the Application, including its artwork, card designs, text and code, remain the property of the Service Provider. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, rent or sublicense the Application, create derivative versions of it, or remove or alter any notices it contains.

You may not attempt to extract the source code of the Application, decompile it, disassemble it, or reverse engineer it, except to the extent that such a restriction is prohibited by applicable law. In particular, nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under Article 6 of Directive 2009/24/EC to decompile the Application for the purpose of achieving interoperability.

Fair play in online multiplayer

The Application has no chat, messaging, voice or image sharing. The only content you supply that other players can see is the short player name you choose when you create or join a game. That name is visible to everyone in your match, so when you use online multiplayer you agree that you will not:

If you encounter a player name that breaks these rules, please report it to stc.dev@outlook.com with the room code and approximate time, and it will be reviewed.

The Service Provider may remove a player from a match, block access to the online multiplayer service, or close a room, where there are reasonable grounds to believe these rules have been broken or that doing so is necessary to protect other players or the service. Where it is practical and lawful to do so, you will be told why.

Cost, advertising and future changes

The Application is currently free and contains no advertisements and no in-app purchases.

The Service Provider may change this in a future version, for example by introducing advertising or paid content. Any such change will be communicated clearly before it takes effect and will never apply retroactively to something you have already obtained. Where advertising requires your consent under applicable law, that consent will be requested separately and you may decline it.

Service availability

The online multiplayer feature depends on a relay server that the Service Provider hosts and pays for. The Service Provider gives no guarantee that this service will remain available indefinitely and may discontinue, suspend or modify it at any time, including for cost reasons. The single-player, solo and tutorial modes do not use the relay and will continue to work regardless.

The Service Provider may issue updates to the Application, and the operating-system requirements may change over time. You may need to install updates to continue using online multiplayer, since the relay may decline connections from outdated versions in order to keep all players in a match on the same rules. The Service Provider does not guarantee that it will always keep the Application compatible with your particular device or operating-system version.

Your device and your connection

You are responsible for the device you play on and for keeping it secure. Some features of the Application need an active internet connection over Wi-Fi or mobile data. The Service Provider is not responsible if the Application does not work fully because you have no connection, have used up your data allowance, or your device has run out of battery.

If you play outside a Wi-Fi area, your mobile network provider's terms still apply and you may incur data charges, including roaming charges when you are outside your home territory. You accept responsibility for those charges. If you are not the bill payer for the device, the Service Provider assumes you have the bill payer's permission.

The Service Provider strongly advises against rooting or jailbreaking your device. Doing so can expose it to malware, compromise its security features, and may stop the Application from working correctly or at all.

Disclaimer

The Application is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. The Service Provider does not warrant that the Application will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects, or that it will meet your particular expectations.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Swedish and European Union law, the Service Provider is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss of enjoyment arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Application.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits the Service Provider's liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Nothing in these Terms affects your mandatory rights as a consumer under the law of your country of residence.

Termination

You may stop using the Application at any time by uninstalling it. The Service Provider may terminate your licence to use the Application if you materially breach these Terms, and may cease providing the Application generally. On termination, the rights granted to you under these Terms end and you must stop using the Application and, where appropriate, delete it from your device.

Third-party services

The Application is distributed through Google Play and uses Google Play services for update checks and app-integrity verification. Those services have their own terms:

The relay server is hosted on Microsoft Azure. See Microsoft's privacy statement.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, and disputes arising from them fall under the jurisdiction of the Swedish courts.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law of your own country, and you may also bring proceedings before the courts of your country of residence.

Changes to these Terms

The Service Provider may update these Terms from time to time. When a change is material, the updated Terms will be shown inside the Application and you will be asked to accept them before continuing to play. The current version is always published at this address, alongside the Privacy Policy.

These Terms and Conditions are effective as of 16 August 2026.
